Her writing is inspired by life events, both hers and the lives of others she meets in her travels. She has a gift of transforming life experiences into relatable stories that delve into the realistic and the magical."Like my novel, my paintings tell a story. The figures, style of stroke, and choice of colors express ethereal emotion captured in a moment. Everything has a purpose in the pictures I paint. even the smallest stroke of color. It is a way to connect the viewer with the subconscious mind of the artist in the hopes that they will understand a metaphorical world different than their own. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words."
Born in upstate New York, Courtney Barriger moved to Jacksonville Florida with her family and was home schooled with her siblings until middle school. At the age of 14 she was already attempting her first book and began to dabble with painting.
Once enrolled at the University of North Florida, travel became her new occupation. She ended up in Los Angeles in summer 2008, where her friends inspired her to take her art work more seriously. Since then her art and writing have become her passion.
She continues to pursue her passion for life, love, and beauty.
